CADS to demonstrate CADS RC3D for Revit at Autodesk University in Las Vegas
CADS are pleased to announce that Jason Colcombe and John Kochummen will be demonstrating CADS RC3D for Revit (aka RebarCAD 3D) at this year’s AU in Las Vegas on Wednesday 14th November.
RebarCAD 3D provides an excellent and comprehensive set of tools to perform the crucial task of placing and detailing reinforcement in a Revit model, staying true to the BIM (Building Information Modelling) philosophy. They will demonstrate an efficient workflow to start with a structural model, create design reinforcement, and end with a detailed rebar model, fabrication drawings, rebar schedules, and production output files from CADS RC3D. During this class, we will show you how to use Revit software and CADS RC3D to prepare a practical arrangement of rebar with laps and splices, stock lengths, and stepped tapers. We will also demonstrate how to produce an annotated 2D fabrication drawing and a Bar Bending Schedule. Another topic covered will be to explain and demonstrate how to assign rebar to releases and generate production output files to the BVBS format and to other production systems like Soulé and aSa.
Learning Objectives
- Learn how to model the design reinforcement, and enhance and elaborate the rebar model to a practical 3D reinforcement model
- Learn how to produce 2D fabrication drawings from the 3D model
- Learn how to prepare bar bending schedules
- Learn how to prepare production output files for automated rebar fabrication
The selection of presentations is a rigorous process; after the initial Autodesk scrutiny they published a short list of class details on the AU portal for voting. We were very pleased that the public voted for our presentation in large numbers. There are still a few places left if you would like to reserve yours.
